El Algoritmo Genetico Compacto (AGc) es una tecnica de busqueda que imita el comportamiento de un Algoritmo Genetico Simple (AGS) con cruza uniforme. Su caracteristica principal es la simplicidad del mismo y el manejo de un vector de probabilidad que emula la poblacion. En este texto se realiza el diseno y la implementacion de un Algoritmo Genetico Compacto sobre un Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA). El diseno se hace a traves de un Lenguaje de Descripcion de Hardware (HDL) para su posterior implementacion sobre un FPGA de la marca Altera(r). Los resultados muestran que tener un algoritmo de busqueda como un Algoritmo Genetico Compacto en hardware, puede ser muy util, ya que esto permite realizar optimizacion numerica global en tiempo real y ademas, poder incorporarlo en un chip que forme parte de una implementacion de mayor escala."
